What's new in 2.1.0
written 645 days agoAlong with some bug fixes, 2.1.0 is mostly about improving POG Setup.
In 2.1.0, Setup is much more friendly, thorough and useful. The most useful feature is probably the fact that Setup can now perform automatic alignment of database tables based on your objects. For example, let’s say you have object A with attributes B, and C. You decide to add another attribute, D, to object A and regenerate the object. During Setup, POG will automatically adjust your database table by adding column D for you. Other operations, such as dropping and modifying columns are also automatically handled.
We personally found this feature was also really useful when promoting any project to the production server from the development server. Once a new feature has been added and tested, and the code promoted to the production server, setup is run and in less than 1 min, the production server is operational.
POG Setup also performs better unit tests and is able to test connected objects. When objects are generated with a Child or Parent attribute, Setup will test each object’s CRUD methods as well as the relations methods.
Finally, some other changes in 2.1.0 include a few bug fixes and the ability to password protect POG Setup.
