Impatiently awaiting PHP 5.1 and PDO
written 1586 days agoWe’ve released POG 1.5 for about a week now, and since then, we’ve been receiving inquiries about how to download PHP 5.1.
For a few weeks, there has been a release candidate for PHP 5.1 on the main PHP download site but it has been quietly removed recently, which is why you cannot ‘officially’ download 5.1 from there.
But if you’re impatient to see PDO in action, and test out POG’s PDO compatible code while you’re at it, there’s always the PHP snapshots page where you can download the latest snapshot of 5.1 (I believe it’s currently at RC5)
In my opinion, these snapshots aren’t stable and shouldn’t be used in a live environment, but in a production environment, they should be fine.
You can also read the PHP Internal News and annoucements to get first hand details about PHP 5.1

This is a weblog about the Php Object Generator (POG) project, OO PHP, databases and Php code generators in general.
Php Object Generator, (POG) is an open source PHP code generator which automatically generates clean & tested Object Oriented code for your PHP4/PHP5 application.
