Previous versions.
written 884 days agoSince the next version of POG (version 1.6) will generate code somewhat differently than the current version (1.5), a few users may still need access to version 1.5 even after we update the main website.
For example:
- If you’ve already started a project using POG 1.5 but need extend it with more objects, but don’t want to upgrade all your existing objects.
- If you’re maintaining a project that used POG 1.5
So, we’ve setup the http://previous.phpobjectgenerator.com sub-domain for this purpose. The POG version running currently on the previous sub-domain is 1.5 (same as the main website). Whenever we update the main website with 1.6, Previous will remain at 1.5. When we update the main website with 1.7, Previous will get bumped up to 1.6 and so on… Simple really, no?
An alternative way to use previous versions of POG is to download the release you’re interested in from the POG sourceforge repository and set up PHP object generator on your own server.
We obsessively try to make subsequent versions as compatible as possible with each other and in fact, 1.6 will be the first version that’ll be incompatible, because of the large number of improvements that required changes to the object interface.
Stay tuned for the beta release of 1.6 and thanks for your support.
