Description of the generated object package

Now that we’ve updated the main site with the latest version of POG (1.6), a description of the new generated object package is in order.

Whenever you generate an object, POG creates a zip file (the “package”), which you can download. In the said package, there are two folders: “Objects” and “Setup”.

The objects folder contains the PHP object you’ve generated, along with a database wrapper object (if you’re not using PDO).

The setup folder contains everything related to the setup process which has been introduced in 1.6.

The configuration.php file is the only file you have to edit before running setup.

The next logical step is to run the setup script which is found at /setup/index.php and complete the setup process.

When you start coding your web application, you’ll most probably create your own directories and simply reference the necessary objects and configuration files as such:

As you can see, the overall package structure for POG 1.6 was designed with cleanliness in mind and we hope it fits into your development process as gracefully as possible. We also hope that this short description will clear up any question(s) you might have about what’s in the generated zip file.
